Extensively renovated and improved over the past decade.
The plan is simple, a bedroom (with adjacent bathroom) overlooks a giant living area with full height windows on three sides giving access to a huge entertainment deck. The feature fireplace dominates and grounds the space, a central pivot point for the two main spaces. There is a double bed guest sleeping space beneath the stairs.
Open plan living area, dominated by a typical Halifax Hayes sandstone fireplace, with access on all sides to the surrounding deck.
Double bedroom with exposed sandstone walls, built-in wardrobes, a long feature window and access to upper garden deck,
The original kitchen cupboards have been completely overhauled with internal modern drawer mechanisms.
An enormous deck hugs the house on three sides floating above the trees, providing one of the most unique and spectacular entertainment spaces in St Albans. It easily accommodates big parties.
With rocks, hollows, waterfalls and waterholes, Halifax supports a huge diversity of plant life. Some low land is flat and suitable for irrigation and fruit trees, while native plants flourish higher up the hillside.
Halifax's stone steps are no longer the only way to access the house. A new four-wheel drive conveniently deposits visitors at an elevated parking area. A few new stone steps lead down to the house.
The recent owners have undertaken extensive renovations and improvements, and have added new facilities making Halifax more easily accessible, and a comfortable and safe home.
We acknowledge the Darug and Darkinjung people as the Traditional Owners and Custodians of the land and pay respect to Elders past, present and emerging.
